STUDIO FIVE

A place with presence

Studio Five isn’t just a restaurant – it’s part of the story of British entertainment. Nestled beside Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, in the heart of North West London’s cultural quarter, this space has seen it all – from iconic recordings and era-defining broadcasts to legendary performances from global stars.

A rich legacy of entertainment

Studio Five stands on what was once the UK’s largest purpose-built soundstage. Since opening in 1960, it’s hosted an astonishing cast of characters: Nina Simone, The Beatles, David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Mick Jagger, and Freddie Mercury, who filmed his final music video here in 1991. In later decades, the studios became home to landmark television productions like The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Friends (UK episodes), and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Even earlier, the site played a starring role as the fine dining venue for the British Empire Exhibition in 1924 – a fitting precursor to its culinary comeback.

Studio Five today

Reopened as a standalone restaurant, Studio Five blends its entertainment heritage with bold fusion dining and vibrant live programming. We serve a creative mix of European and Asian dishes, crafted from high-quality produce and served in a modern, relaxed space. With a stage built into the venue, guests can enjoy performances from up-and-coming artists, nostalgic throwbacks and acts from local music schools – all curated to elevate your experience beyond the plate.

Candid snapshots of music and screen legends line the walls, while our live setlist ensures the next generation of performers continues to bring energy to the space.

Troubadour: The vision behind the venue

Studio Five is part of the Troubadour Theatres family – an award-winning company known for reimagining entertainment spaces across London. In 2018, Troubadour transformed the historic Fountain Studios into a world-class performance venue: Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. The theatre has since staged major shows including War Horse, Newsies, and now Starlight Express in its immersive Starlight Auditorium.

With thoughtful design, a passion for accessibility and a commitment to world-class guest experiences, Troubadour continues to push what modern theatre – and dining – can be.
